Can I enable/disable SmartShield Home without rebooting or restarting my computer?

No, you must restart your computer to change the protection level. SmartShield Home loads a sector level driver with your operating system. This driver is what is protecting your system. Due to this level of protection, your system must be rebooted in order for the protection status to change. This is the only way we can provide 100% protection for your system.
