The computer is stuck in the "Please wait..." message
During Smart Shield Home installation, message is displayed and the user is prevented to logon. If you are sure you waited enough and the computer is not coming up from this state, you need to power off the computer and go in Safe Mode. If you are comfortable editing the registry, delete the following registry key:
If you have XP:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\GinaDLL. Delete this key only if its value is mscad.dll.
If you have Vista:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\Credential Providers\{F95AC45B-14B7-481B-83A8-0941B4BF9C07}.
Then restart the computer, now you should be able to log on in Windows.
