During the Windows Update process, Smart Shield Home displays the following message: "Centurion Technologies software is currently running scheduled Windows Updates. This process should complete at approximately xx:xx" and the user is not able to log in. The process takes 2h, so make sure you configure the time for updates (using Windows updates button in the Smart Shield Home GUI or Control Panel/Automatic Updates) during the night for example or disable Automatic Updates. You can do the updates manually when you have time using Internet Explorer's Tools/Windows Update shortcut. The protection needs to be disabled, otherwise the updates are lost upon reboot.
The update process is starting if the protection status is enabled and the computer time is getting closer (about 15 min) to the time that was configured for windows updates. At this time, the computer will reboot unprotected and will wait unprotected for 2 hours letting Windows to do the updates while the user is prevented to log in. After 2 hours, the computer will reboot in the protected mode automatically.
